PROJECT
The project aims at lowering poverty levels by improving the social-economic conditions in the city of Hosaena through high levels of schooling made accessible to all.

The first elementary school was constructed between 2018 and 2019 and was opened on 25th August 2019.

During the remainder of this year, NFA will finance the construction of a second building which will house the fifth to eighth forms and the teachers’ bathrooms.

By the year 2023 NFA plans to finance the construction of a third building which will house ninth through to twelfth grade, laboratories, IT classrooms, and offices.

REASONS TO TAKE ACTION

This school building will be focal to the various surrounding villages by greatly reducing distances meaning children will not have to cover tens of kilometres each day.

DIRECT AND INDIRECT BENEFICIARIES

65% of Hosaena’s population and the surrounding villages will benefit from the project. Over 950 families and 850 students will have access to high standards of education, especially very poor children and orphans. In addition to this, 4,100 members of neighboring rural communities will benefit and more than 50 jobs will be created by the school.
