The project aims at contributing to decrease poverty by increasing socio-economic conditions in the city of Hosaena through the support of quality education accessible to all. Between 2017 and 2023, NFA is going to finance the construction of a first school complex for the classes between the first and the fifth grade, a second complex for the classes between the sixth and the eighth grade, and another third one including the classrooms for the high school, from the ninth to the twelfth grade, along with laboratories, IT room and offices.

REASONS TO INTERVENE
Children living in rural villages close to the city of Hosaena often have to walk for miles and miles every day in order to reach their schools. With the construction of this school compound, which will be centrally located for many villages, the distance they have to cover will be sensibly reduced.
NUMBER OF DIRECT/INDIRECT BENEFICIARIES
65% of the population of Hosaena and of the surrounding villages will benefit from the project. Precisely, more than 950 families will have access to education and 850 students, especially girls, youngsters coming from poor families, children of widows and orphans, will have the opportunity to take advantage from a quality education. Moreover, more than 4,100 members of the surrounding local communities could benefit from it, and more than 50 people will be hired to work in the compound.
The area of Hadiya is located at the borders of the Ethiopian tectonic plate in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Regional State, which is in the South-West of Ethiopia. The total population of the area of Hadiya count 1,611,119 people.
