PROJECT
A New School in Amparamanina
This project provides the construction of a new scholastic building in Madagascar that will include a kindergarten, a primary and a secondary school. Children of the village and of the neighboring villages are numerous and actually there’s only one primary, public and overcrowded school. Consequently, there are lot of kids that don’t have the opportunity to go to school.
REASONS TO INTERVENE
The goal is to increase the schooling rate that decreased since 2007 and, at the same time, give to young people the opportunity to start and continue their studies near their birthplace, with a quality teaching and a spacious place where they can calmly study.
DIRECT/INDIRECT BENEFICIARIES
Direct beneficiaries will be 550 children of the village of Amparamanina and the neighboring villages. Even their families, the staff of the school and generally speaking the whole community will benefit from this important project.
THE COUNTRY
The village of Amparamanina is located 350 km north from the main city Antananarivo. There are 6’315 inhabitants and more of the half are less than 20 years old. The village is surrounded by growing fields that are the huge granary of rice of the country and they attract lot of workers. For this reason, Amparamanina turned out to be too small in order to welcome everyone and there’s an increase of all the social problems such unemployment and poverty, while the population is always dreaming about a better future.
