The construction of classrooms for grades 8-10 of the Salesian Fathers in Zway, Ethiopia, allowed for the expansion of an already active school, but one that did not have the complete cycle (8–10). In an area where poverty and a lack of educational structures represent significant obstacles, the project guaranteed educational continuity for children finishing primary school, significantly reducing the risk of dropping out.
The intervention involved about 300 students as direct beneficiaries and generated a positive impact on over 1,100 people in the local community. Thanks also to the work of 10 teachers, the school is now a point of reference for families in the area, offering a stable and inclusive environment where young people can continue their studies and cultivate their aspirations.
This expansion represents a concrete investment in the educational future of a generation.
School infrastructures are the heart of our interventions in Africa: without safe classrooms, adequate spaces, and modern tools, learning remains a privilege for a few. For this reason, we build and renovate schools, create laboratories and educational spaces that allow children and young people to grow up in dignified environments. Every new classroom is not just a building, but a seed of hope and future for entire communities.

Zway is a city in the Oromia region with about 60,000 inhabitants, located on the shores of the lake of the same name. It is a rapidly growing agricultural and commercial center, with lively markets and an enterprising community. However, most of the population lives in conditions of economic precariousness, with very low incomes and a high rate of youth unemployment. According to local reports, less than 40% of young people complete secondary school. The potential linked to fishing and tourism remains largely untapped due to a lack of structural investments. The city therefore lives in continuous tension between dynamism and fragility.
With the goal of supporting basic education and vocational training, the Foundation invests in infrastructure and initiatives addressing educational challenges such as the empowerment of girls and women.
Each project is developed in collaboration with local communities and aims to promote education, personal growth, and sustainable development.
