As a student of ACS, who has learned here for over 10 years, I can say many things about my school. ACS is a school that stands for students’ intelligence, best academic performance, and behavioral excellence. It’s a school that is always in progress and is shining. It applies a strategy of student – centered learning and creates an environment that supports hard work and diligent students. The classrooms, compounds and all facilities found in ACS are of great hygiene and are built for students’ comfort and success. As observed from the result, its aim is to produce self – independent, skilled and knowledgeable citizens. It also appreciates good relationships among teachers, parents, students, and team – work. Generally, it is a place where I captured many beautiful memories of my life.

It has been 14 years since I began my journey of education at Auxilium Catholic School, and this school has become the source of my most cherished memories. It has a wonderful campus filled with amazing teachers, kind staff, and a dedicated administrator. The teachers and staff work tirelessly to help students reach their full potential and encourage us to work hard and to make the most out of every opportunity. Here, no one ever feels neglected or left behind and everyone are treated like a part of family. I am truly grateful or the love, support and care I received throughout my years here and I am thankful that I have had the privilege to spend the past 14 years of my life at ACS, surrounded by such community. I am Abel Chuchu, a student from Addis Ababa, I have been a student in Auxilium Catholic School for 8 years, from grade 5 to grade 12. At the national exam I scored above 624, alongside with my three student collegues who also scored above 600. In Auxilium Catholic School we had well facilitated library and it was great to have it because I could use my time to study there. I have been taught by teachers with a university master degree and that has been very helpful; there were also many salesians sisters and the director and the community was really helpful to make me achieve this and to be provided with moral values and love. Their support was phenomenal and it was very helpful to get to this point. We have been awarded by the Prime Minister and the Minister of education. It has been an honor to be provided with knowledge and moral values to join university. I am currently enrolled in medical school, I took an exam and I have been interviewed; out of 1600 students only 50 could join and me and one other student from Auxilium School were selected to join the top medical school in Addis Ababa and we’re pursuing our dream to attend Medical College. I have always dreamed about joining a top medical school and to study abroad and I am trying to enrol in the top medical schools in the US and in Europe, in fact I am applying and trying to secure myself a good place in the top medical colleges. Even if it’s not going to happen I am very happy to be enrolled in the best medical College in Ethiopia, that way I can pursue my dream of helping others. One of the greatest value I have is to help others, I have always wanted that: to relieve the pain and suffering of my community; and I think the mean I could use to do that is by joining medical school, having good results, graduating and come back here to serve and to relieve their suffering. Here in Auxilium that is the value, helping others and treating others harmoniously, I am very thankful for being taught here. I have siblings learning in Auxilium Catholic School and also my friend’s brothers and sisters are learning here, I really hope this school continues to enrich and to provide the care continuously and I am very thankful to the Salesians sisters, to the school director and to the whole school community. I really hope our later generations will follow our footsteps and pursuing their dreams and that the school keeps providing the comfort that has given to us.

My name is Saron Tesfaye, I have learned in Auxilium Catholic School since grade 1, which means I have stayed here for the last 12 years of my life. This is not just a school, it’s a community, it’s family. Most of us have been here for 12 years, some for 14 years, we’re more than friends, we’re family. The school community helpes us a lot to achieve what we want; in addition it gives to people from low income backgrounds the opportunity to have access to high quality education and that’s the thing I value most about Auxilium Catholic School. It helped us to thrive and learn through any method we want, it provided us the best teachers and it helped us achieve what we have done so far. Because of the high quality education I received here I have been able to be admitted to medical school and I have taken one step to my dream to be a doctor, in particular a Neurosurgeon. The opportunity that Auxilium School gave me goes beyond that, it will help me achieve many more things in the future. Because of how Auxilium School has helped us to prepare for the national exam I have been able to score very high and thanks to this result I got the opportunity to study abroad and I will go to the United Arab Emirates to attend medical college.

Ho passato un mese in Etiopia, al College delle suore salesiane di Ziway. Durante questo periodo ho tenuto lezioni di eCommerce e intelligenza artificiale per gli studenti di moda, ho lavorato con le studentesse del programma di Empowerment per creare dei business plans e ho avviato un progetto per migliorare efficienza e qualità nella fabbrica di moda della scuola. Ho trovato molti ragazzi e ragazze con grande sete di imparare e con uno sguardo pieno di curiosità e ambizioni e desiderio di crescere. È stata un'esperienza unica e interessantissima, nella quale spero di aver contribuito in modo tangibile allo sviluppo della scuola e dei suoi studenti. Ho anche potuto vedere direttamente il grande impatto positivo dei progetti della fondazione Nuovo Fiore sullo sviluppo di una nuova generazione di giovani.
