In 2023, we completed the construction of the primary school in Myau, a rural village in southern Tanzania. The project was initiated in response to the total absence of educational facilities in the area, where access to education is limited also due to poverty, illiteracy, and child labor exploitation.
The new school, built in collaboration with the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, will host up to 1,000 pupils each year, divided into two sections per class. It is equipped with spacious classrooms, a canteen, recreational areas, and adequate sanitary facilities. The project aims to offer a safe and dignified school environment that favors the learning and personal growth of children, removing them from work in the fields and the burden of traveling long distances to reach the nearest state schools.
In a country where approximately 30% of children between 7 and 13 years old are still excluded from the educational system (UNICEF Tanzania, 2023), this school represents a concrete step towards promoting the right to education and human development in one of the most isolated areas of the country.
We invest in school infrastructures to guarantee educational environments that are safe, inclusive, and functional for the development of young people's skills.

Myau is a rural village located 1,050 km south of Dar es Salaam, in a remote area bordering Malawi and Mozambique. The population mainly lives on subsistence farming and small livestock, with unstable incomes and great vulnerability to climatic conditions. The community stands out for its strong solidarity among families and its ability to resist daily difficulties with a cooperative spirit, valuing the land and local products. The main challenges concern geographical isolation, widespread poverty, and the lack of adequate educational infrastructures, which prevent many children from studying. For this reason, the construction of a school in Myau is decisive: it represents the possibility of accessing education, reducing exclusion, and building a safer future for the entire village.
With the goal of supporting basic education and vocational training, the Foundation invests in infrastructure and initiatives addressing educational challenges such as the empowerment of girls and women.
Each project is developed in collaboration with local communities and aims to promote education, personal growth, and sustainable development.
